The Under 9s team is for players who, from September 1st, will be in Year 4 at school.
Risborough Rangers coach girls and boys of ALL footballing abilities so if your child has never played but wants to come and have a go they will be made very welcome. Players benefit from qualified FA level 1 coaching using the latest methodologies, regulated by The FA. They will also learn individual skills and personal development as well as collective team development.
Helping players develop will also help to build self-confidence. We as coaches believe that everyone can benefit from playing the game, and making new friends so come along on Saturday mornings and see what it’s all about!
Training is held every Saturday morning starting at 9:30am sharp at Wades Park HP27 9AX We aim to finish at around 11am.
What to wear/bring
Players should wear suitable clothing and football boots on training days with warm clothing depending on weather conditions. Players are expected to wear studded boots during wet weather. Shin pads are compulsory. During the colder months in winter we train indoors on a rotor basis with other age groups, so trainers will need to be work during these weeks. Please also bring a soft drink.
We are always on the lookout for new players to come and join, so if your child has a healthy interest in playing football and having fun then please feel free to come and have taster session prior to joining our great club. We have a new Colts team starting up this season specifically for those that are new to the club and those that are new to playing competitive matches.
Roughly every other Sunday we will be playing matches against other local teams. We are in the U9’s West League in the South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference, Home matches will be played at Wades Park HP27 9AX each ‘team’ tends to consists of 2 ‘squads’ of 7-a-side plus up to 2 subs. Our Colts team are ‘buddied’ up with Wendover Junior Football club, so half of our home matches will be played in Risborough and half at Wendover home pitches.
With our season ending in March, we play regular tournaments most weekends from the middle of May through to early July. We enter as many teams as we can to give everyone an opportunity to play, fees are usually between £5-£6 per player.
Important Notes to Parents
Any player that has a medical condition such as asthma must bring their own personnel medication to all training/matches and have it within easy access at all times.
